Monte Alegre, a renowned coffee farm in Sul de Minas, was acquired by the Viera Family in 1917. Originally focused on sugarcane, the farm shifted to coffee due to its growing acclaim. In 2017, the family celebrated 100 years of coffee farming. Monte Alegre upholds high environmental standards, including energy and water conservation, waste management, and reduced emissions. Over 20% of the estate is set aside for biodiversity preservation. The farm is UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, and BSCA certified.
